Meet the Kitten

Name: Olivia

Nicknames: Sugarbear, Brown Bear, Little One, the Kitten, Angel

The Story Behind the Name: Terribly embarrassing, but I haven’t a clue. To the best of my memory we looked at her and said, “She looks like an Olivia.”

Weight: 10 lbs

Coloring: Brown and gray tabby.

Personality:
Very much the lady. Delicate, retiring, never makes a scene or a fuss. If we hear a “mew” out of her once a week, it’s a lot. She holds her small front paws in place much as a woman keeps her legs together while wearing a skirt. She can blend in anywhere and more than once we’ve tripped over her as she fades into an oriental rug, a bedspread, or a chair. Disappears for hours at a time. The first night we had her we kept her in the front room (away from Lucy). The next morning, couldn’t find her. We tore the room apart, upending couches, moving tables, checking windows. Nothing. I was frantic. Two hours later we came back and there she was, taking a bath on the sofa. No clue where she came from. Our little Houdini.

Favorite Toy: Anything Lucy shows an interest in. Also, a ratty looking bunch of straw tied to the end of a stick. Loves to pounce on it and her absolute favorite is when we make the straw “hide” under the couch. She’ll race over, plunge her paws beneath the couch and drag it out.
