I GREW THIS SQUASH!!!

I have found the inner farmer in me and her name is Sue.

Split personality aside, check out this squash I grew! Oh sure, Blair built the square foot garden, dug the earth, researched, bought, and combined the soil components and planted the seeds, but I watered the plants and therefore take full credit for creating life.

Oh, it's the cutest little squash. First food I ever grew from seed. And there are a lot more baby squash out there still.

You all need to hope and pray our green beans don't survive. Otherwise this could be a l-o-n-g summer of blog posts filled with photos of vegetables.

Cheers,

Dena

I feel the same way every time I get eggs from the coop. (Except, of course, I don't exclaim, "I LAID THIS EGG!" Lunch and Tootie take care of that part.) It's like a little miracle every time.

Wait...is that white pipe a little irrigation tube that Blair built as well, so all you have to do is turn on the spigot to water the garden? Or did he also install a nice little timer that comes on automatically, so when you say you "watered" the plants, that really means you had coffee on the deck as the timer kicked on?

Congratulations! It is exciting watching things grow. What else did you plant?

Chris - that's just plain pipe Blair cut to outline the squares. That's why he was in charge of building the garden and not me. I showed up with twine and was like, "Let's do this."

Carol - we also planted basil, cherry tomatoes, and melon. We have a tiny stalk of basil, no sign of tomatoes, and something is happening in the melon square but it may just be weeds.
